5 Curly Hair Products I Love That Are Under $10

Updated: Dec 23, 2018

Just about the second I have one bad hair day I freak out and go buy just about any new curly hair product available. It’s safe to say I have issues - and my issues add up. The beauty industry is swarming with products that promise to deliver us curly girls with fabulous, shiny locks, but it can add up fast.

Over the past two months I have been testing curly hair products that don’t cost an arm and a leg and I cannot wait to share them with you gurlz. Some are specifically for our curly hair while others, I believe just treat our curls right and the best part - all of them are under $10!

1. Pacifica Beauty Pineapple Curls Defining Shampoo $10

When I came across this brand on Insta I died. They have a fabulous page and the products are all 100% vegan and cruelty free. Sold. Oh yeah, the makeup lines also rocks. Get it here.

2. Pacifica Beauty Pineapple Curls Defining Conditioner $10

3. Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Curl Activating Mousse $8

I took a complete chance on this product when I browsing Ulta Beauty because it was affordable and I was desperate to try something new. To say the least I fell in love. Remember thought if you are using mousse be sure to scrunch dry your hair with a microfiber towel and get the excess moisture our before applying. A little mousse goes a long way or you’ll have crunchy curls. Get it here.

4. Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner $20

(2 for around $10)

Make your scalp sing ladies. I used to be in love with Aveda’s Peppermint shampoo but paying NYC rent doesn’t allow for all luxuries. I got hip to Trader Joe’s beauty products when I was searching for a new shampoo after having bad hair weeks. Get it at your local TJ's.

5. Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo $6.99

I frequently suffer from dry scalp and dandruff. I think it comes with the thick hair and nothing works better to reset my scalp than a monthly wash with Head & Shoulders shampoo. My mom started washing my hair with the stuff when I was a kid and it has been a staple in my bathroom ever since. Get it here.
