Matcha Hamantashen

Every basic girl loves her some Matcha. It's so good there are entire cafes dedicated to only serving Matcha, for example ChaCha Matcha in NYC, which is why I decided to dress my Hamantashen up this year - Matcha style.

If you dig everything about Matcha from lattes to smoothies to desserts then you MUST make these Matcha Hamantashen cookies. Haman's hat never looked better.

Side note: This batter below is a double batter. My husband really doesn't get down with the Matcha so I made half Matcha and half regular. I did this by leaving out the Matcha until the dough was mixed well, then I separated it equally and worked the Matcha into 1 portion by hand. If I was you, I'd make the whole damn thing Matcha.

What You'll Need:

  • 8 Cups Flour

  • 2 Cups Sugar

  • 2 Cups Butter

  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips

  • 2 Tsp Kosher Salt

  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder

  • 6 Eggs

  • 2 Tbsp Matcha Powder

  • 1 3.5 Diameter Circle Cookie Cutter

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and let butter warm up to room temperature.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients together (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, Matcha).

  3. Using an electric mixer, add the butter.

  4. Once your dough has nicley combined with the butter roll it out flat on a floured surface using a rolling pin.

  5. Cut circles in the dough, add a few chocolate chips and pinch into 3 corners (making Haman's hat).

  6. Once all of that is done, bake these queens for 18-22 minutes.

  7. Let cool, dunk in a Matcha Latte.
